Easy Paleo Meatballs + Bone Broth Gravy
Easy paleo meatballs that are gluten, grain, egg, nut and dairy free! Stick them on toothpicks, throw them over a plate of zoodles or cauliflower puree and slather them in homemade bone broth gravy, or wolf them down straight off the pan (hey, no judgement here!).
MEATBALL INGREDIENTS
850g grass-fed beef mince
2 Tbsp tamari or coconut aminos
1 Tbsp cumin powder
1 Tbsp coriander powder
2-3 Tbsp sweet chilli sauce (you can find my additive free brand recommendations HERE)
4-6 cloves of garlic, crushed
Butter or ghee for cooking
Optional: fresh parsley for garnishing
BONE BROTH GRAVY
2-3 cups homemade bone broth*
1-2 Tbsp cassava flour - you can use my iHerb discount code for this “CJJ916”
*Please note: the more flavourful your bone broth is, the more flavourful the gravy will be. You can also add in any leftover meat juices too.
INSTRUCTIONS
Add meatball ingredients into a bowl and combine everything.
Roll the mixture into 30 meatballs.
Heat a frying pan and add some ghee. Add a few meatballs to the frying pan and cook on all sides until dark golden brown. Then remove from the pan and set aside in a dish.
Add more ghee if needed to cook the next batch of meatballs. Repeat until all the meatballs are cooked.
Now for the bone broth gravy. Add the bone broth into a small saucepan and bring up to a medium simmer.
Add the cassava flour, starting with 1 Tbsp and whisk it together until there are no lumps.
Allow it to simmer and reduce for a few minutes. Add more cassava flour and whisk through if you want a thicker gravy.
Serve the meatballs with your choice of sides; steamed or roasted veggies, cooked and cooled rice or my twice cooked and cooled roast potatoes, or a veggie puree and pour the gravy on top and garnish with fresh parsley. These meatballs are also delicious chopped up and added into a homemade fried rice 🤤
